In Just 10 Minutes, Rebecca Minkoff's NFT Merchandise Sold Out
Gone in a New York Minute! Well,10 minutes. During New York Fashion Week, tech-savvy designer Rebecca Minkoff launched a digital NFT Merchandise Collection. As is the case in various circles on the internet, NFTs, or non-fungible tokens, are having a moment in fashion—Gucci and Louis Vuitton have both taken to the modish technology. Minkoff's digital collection, which included 4 full looks, exclusive bags, and jewelry—sold out in under ten minutes.
All proceeds from Rebecca Minkoff's NFT collection will be used to fund a grant for Women-Owned Businesses in NYC by the pandemic. The Female Founder Collective (501c3) will be administering the grant. Leveraging the immutable legder feature of NFTs, all revenue from resales of the digital collection will continue to benefit the Female Founder Collective. In collaboration with Yahoo, Rebecca Minkoff is offering an immersive NFT experience. “We partnered with Yahoo to make a 3-D gallery where you can see the NFTs . . .We see the future of retail and experiential intersecting in a big way. The more you can make retail fun, the better, and also hit a new customer base.”, the designer shared. You can view the buzzy NFT collection online at Yahoo Labs.
