Former J.Crew Executive Jenna Lyons Joins Real Housewives of New York Cast
Sai De Silva a.k.a. ScoutTheCity also joins the RHONY cast reboot.
It was announced during BravoCon that certified fashion icon Jenna Lyons will be joining the cast of the Real Housewives of New York. An unexpected cast member, Lyons previously served as president and executive creative director of J.Crew Group, where she completely transformed the American retail chain from a floundering mall brand to a fashion stalwart. Under her leadership, J.Crew began to show at New York Fashion Week for the first time. This will be Lyons' second go at reality television following her 2020 stint on one season of "Stylish" on HBO Max.
Building a cult-like following around her personal style, Lyons was a bonified streetstyle star during the height of her 26-year career at J.Crew. While at J.Crew, Lyons had the support of First Lady Michelle Obama, who frequently wore J.Crew for press appearances, and Lyons regularly hobnobbed with Anna Wintour and the fashion glitterati.
During her time at the helm of J.Crew, some were not a fan of Jenna Lyons’ eclectic mix of animal prints, sequins, and sweaters, and many were vocal that she had “strayed too far from the classics”. Sure, some can point to Lyons' introduction of the J. Crew Collection featuring an $800 skirt and $1,900 sweater during the recession as the turning point that steered the company into a reported loss of $607.8 million in one year following $35.4 million in net profit the year prior. Be that as it may, we are looking forward to what the tastemaker will bring to our screens and discussions her personal style will get bubbling online.
